As an innovative tech company in a period of scaling-up, we are growing fast and are now in need of a superstar Financial Controller / Finance Business Partner to join our Head office team in Gateshead, UK

About the Role

Having recently completed a funding round from BGF we are looking to strengthen our finance team as we enter the next phase of growth and support the expansion from 70 to 140 staff globally over the next 3 years.

We’re looking for a self-motivated, hands-on financial controller to take on tasks currently being done by the CFO. You will also work closely with the current finance team who covers credit control, invoicing, and payroll.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of various processes and put your own stamp on them. Helping to streamline activities and provide concise, actionable information.

Example tasks include but are not limited to the following activities :

  • Reporting and calculation of SaaS Metrics and KPIs

  • Contribute to board reporting on analysis on a quarterly basis

  • Provide financial and commercial support to the team

  • Produce consolidated management accounts within 2 days of month end

  • Manage Balance Sheet and reporting for PAYE, VAT, and payroll on a timely basis

  • Year End responsibility and compliance across 3 legal entities

About You

The most important factor is an individual with the right attitude and aptitude to fit within the Recite Me culture - “can-do” people who work together and are empowered to deliver their best.  

The successful candidate will be comfortable in getting their hands into the details, whilst also having the ability and acumen to summarise and impart the “so what” of the numbers.

There will be days when you will be elbow-deep in numbers, and days when you will have a direct influence on company strategy. You will be comfortable doing both.

We are not expecting you to know everything regarding SaaS business and metrics but we do expect that you will immerse yourself in becoming a domain expert in this area. 

We are looking for someone tech-savvy when it comes to data and the use of systems for reporting – it would be an added benefit if you had experience in this area.

Essential Skills:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

  • A minimum 3 years of broad financial experience, ideally in a software or services environment

  • Excel superpowers for data analysis and presentation.

  • Desire to learn and improve in SaaS/Excel areas that you do not currently know

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to design and present analysis in a concise manner

  • Willingness to assist team members, fit into the team and get on with people

  • Takes ownership of the accuracy, reliability and relevance of the reporting and analysis

 

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in SaaS or software Business

  • Prior experience in use or implementation of Business Intelligence or Data warehouse tools

Office-based, Newcastle/Gateshead Quays HQ (Remote during C19)

Hours

  • Typically 09:00 17:30 working day sometimes more when the exciting stuff happens.

  • We also operate a flexible start and end time starting 08:00-10:00 and finish 8.5 hrs later

Salary - reflective of experience
