As an organisation we’re in a period of scaling-up, and now we’re looking for a highly-skilled and experienced Product Owner to lead the development of our cutting-edge accessibility product, the Recite Me Accessibility Scanner.

 

This is one of the most exciting roles at Recite Me. Embedded right at the heart of the business, the product team is the intersection of user needs and business brains, where we solve real-life user pain points, and roll them out to a worldwide audience. 

Our MVP accessibility scanner has its first clients and now we’re looking for a world-beating product owner to drive the product forward to scale, being the bridge between the needs of our users and the next great feature we roll out.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Product, the Product Owner (Accessibility Scanner) will be responsible for driving the roadmap, prioritization, and development of our newest accessibility product, the Recite Me Accessibility Scanner. You’ll work closely with our engineering, design, marketing, customer success and sales teams to ensure that the product meets the needs of our client organisations and helps them to reach their target industry standards for accessibility.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and prioritise the accessibility scanner product roadmap and backlog based on customer needs, market trends, and business goals

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, triage feedback, define user stories, and ensure timely delivery of product features

  • Conduct user-research and testing to identify user needs and pain points, and use data to drive product decisions

  • Partner with our design team to create intuitive and accessible user experiences that help our clients meet WCAG and other accessibility standards

  • Continuously monitor and analyze the market and competition, and use insights to improve our product offering

  • Collaborate with marketing, sales and customer success teams to develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, and messaging that effectively communicate the value of our product to customers

  • Be an expert on international accessibility standards, regulations, and best practices, and use this knowledge to inform product development and positioning

About You

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, with a demonstrable track record of launching successful products

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and sales

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development as a product owner

  • Passion for creating products that make a positive impact on people's lives

 

 

Preferred:

  •  In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards, regulations, and best practices (WCAG, ADA,Section 508, etc.)

Office-based, Newcastle/Gateshead Quays HQ (Remote during C19)

Hours

  • Typically 09:00 17:30 working day sometimes more when the exciting stuff happens.

  • We also operate a flexible start and end time starting 08:00-10:00 and finish 8.5 hrs later
